Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer | £25 | Link | This primer was first raved about a few years ago, the clear gel primer flew off the shelves with hundreds of reviews backing up how wonderful it was. I never caved then, but a couple of months ago I decided to go on the search for primer that wouldn't irritate my sensitive skin. This primer claimed to increase the longevity of my foundation while reducing the appearance of fine lines and pores, I instantly thought to myself "Yeah right" (The often thought process I go through when buying products with miraculous promises), but after a few applications I saw a massive difference in the way my foundation seamlessly glided over my face and the wear of my make up. Even though the gel consistency could cause a problem for those with oily skin as it could cause your make up to slide off more easily, I personally found that the formula filled in my imperfections whilst giving my skin a super soft feel. It's definitely a best seller for a reason, so I would recommend it to anybody looking for a lightweight primer that helps creates a smooth, primed canvas for foundation application.
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion | £8/£16 | Link | I recently expressed my love for this eyeshadow primer in my Top Eye Products post. This primer has been a cult favourite of beauty bloggers for years now. The lightweight, silky finish formula is a god send to those of you that want your eyeshadow to last throughout the day without creasing or fading. I apply this using my finger, blending out until it covers the whole of my lid. I find that not only does this primer increase the longevity of my eyeshadow but it increases the vibrancy and pigmentation too. The easy to squeeze tube allows for precise and controlled application meaning little product is ever wasted, so even though this is on the pricier side a little goes a long way. A definite must have in my make up collection and I will continue to purchase this until I find a better alternative.
I love the Urban Decay primer, it's so good at locking my shadow in place!

I don't use primer on the daily, the most I normally use is the MAC paintpot in Painterly. Primer is a great step for evening looks :)

Both these primers are on the top of my most wanted primer list! I've heard so many amazing things about them and am dying to step away from and expand beyond my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte x
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thank you so much for leaving me your blog link in tonight's #crazybloggers chat. I don't know how I wasn't following you before!

Fab post, the Smashbox Primer sounds really lovely - I’m not sure how it would work with my skin though as I do suffer oily patches. I’m a big fan of the UD Primer Potion and really helps the longevity of my eyeshadows :)

I adore that urban decay primer - I actually like it more than the NARS primer that everyone seems to love! For face primers, my favorite is by Becca - it's great for oily skin. Thanks for sharing!

I found that ELF makes an amazing primer for $1 that's just as amazing as the Urban Decay! I highly recommend it :)
ReplyDeleteThe Smashbox Photo Finish Primer works absolute wonders for my skin and because of that has been my go-to primer for the most part of 2014 - it really does make your make-up look flawless. So worth the money.
