Cross Stitch | Cross stitch really helps me to switch off after a stressful day, as the repetitive motion is rather therapeutic- perfect before bed or on those rainy days. My favourite brands for starter kits are The Make Arcade; the cactus pattern being my most loved. I completed it in a couple of hours during my regular digital detox ritual.
Colouring In | I've always enjoyed colouring in and when I found the Enchanted Forest Adult Colouring Book I knew I was in for a treat. I can easily waste an afternoon away filling in a page with bright, bold colours and it's a great way to clear the mind whenever I don't particularly feel like reading or thinking about anything.
Calligraphy | I'm yet to turn my hand to calligraphy, but it is a hobby that I have been wanting to try out for years now. I can spend hours getting lost in Instagram videos and I'm certain if I took a course or chose to self teach myself I would get hooked pretty quickly. This Nib + Ink: The New Art of Modern Calligraphy book looks like it would be perfect to get started and start practising too!
Photographing | Whether it's shooting for a blog post or getting snap happy for your scrapbook, photographing can help to inspire your work in many ways. I have a Lomography Instant Camera which I play around with on a regular basis to get a range of un-edited photographs to use. It's nice having a camera that instantly prints and can be used in my scrapbook.
Working With Wool | I've wanted to teach myself how to knit for many years now, but I decided to start off simple by learning how to make pom poms. I now have a pom pom garland that I drape over my prints to add colour and texture to my interior.
What creative hobbies do you enjoy doing?
