Birthday Makeup

Tomorrow is my birthday, so today I am pampering and prepping for the big day ahead with multiple face masks, a Lush bubble bath and I am slathering on a layer or two of my Laura Mercier Creme Brûlée Body Souffle. I'm going to the Harry Potter Tour tomorrow afternoon and then out for a meal, so I wanted to make my make up extra special.

As usual I will be using the Avene Hydrance Optimal Serum* before layering on my moisturiser of choice to keep my skin supple and hydrated ready for makeup application. To prep my skin further, I will be applying the Too Faced Hangover Primer before going in with my Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint and Copacabana Highlighter combination to create a dewy, lightweight base.

As I'm turning 20, I decided to treat myself a few weeks ago to a new blusher and I couldn't resist the Becca Champagne Split Pan Blush. I picked up Prosecco Pop/Pamplemousse, a satin coral pink and golden duo to highlight and add a pop of colour to the cheeks.

I want my eye makeup to be as long lasting as possible as I plan to spend a good chunk of the day walking around and exploring. I'm keeping it simple with the Tanya Burr Birthday Suit Palette to create a subtle brown smokey eye, but then add the Nars Rigel Eyeshadow to the inner corners and under the brow bone to brighten and define. Lastly, I apply a thin line of eyeliner and several lashings of mascara.

For the lips, I will definitely be reaching for the NYX Copenhagen Soft Matte Lip Cream as this deep burgundy hue will look perfect paired with dewy skin and the simple black outfit I will be wearing.

What do you think of my birthday makeup?
