The Rose Gold Brushes That Won't Break The Bank

Crown Rose Gold Contour Set Artis Dupe
I've been using the same makeup tools for a while now and although I remain loyal to my beauty blender, which creates a flawless base every time, I thought it was about time I tried some new makeup brushes. The Crown Rose Gold Full Face Contour Set* instantly caught my eye and as someone who's been lusting after the Artis brushes, these were the perfect place to start.

I was skeptical at first that the bristles would be too harsh for my sensitive skin and that they would be hard to use, but the bendy heads of the brushes make for the exact opposite. The biggest brush is perfect for applying foundation as it's super quick to apply, whilst keeping my base looking flawless. As for the medium and smaller sized offerings, these are great for creating a strong contour and blending in your concealer under the eyes, in fact my cream contour has never looked better. These are obviously quite similar to the Artis brushes from the first glance, but at under £30 for three, they definitely come in at a better price for someone testing the water like me.

I was smitten from the get-go and although I won't be putting away my beauty blender, especially when I want quick top ups or to have a lightweight base, this trio is a much welcomed addition to my makeup bag.

Have you tried this Crown Brush Contour Set?

How To Generate Ideas For Your Blog

Although I'm a firm believer that some of the best blog post ideas come to you when you're least expecting it, I do use a few techniques to help the ideas flow, so I thought I would share with you them today. The majority are based around creating posts for beauty blogs, but they can be adapted for any genre.

The Spider Diagram | This is a method that I have been using for many months now and I find it the most effective. I simply pick three or more products and then write multiple ideas relating to that product. I personally love picking a makeup item, a skincare pick and then a calendar or diary to ensure that I get a wide variety of ideas.  For instance, if I chose the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation I could then relate it to everyday makeup, five foundation favourites and a brand/product focus post too. Similarly, The Balm's Mary Lou Manizer could be used in a dewy edit, makeup to mask lacklustre skin and a ten products under £20. This is a great technique when you want to create complex ideas as it really gets your brain working and it works perfectly for lifestyle posts as well.

Add On To The Basic Ideas | At some point I bet you've seen a what's in my bag or top high street products post and this technique is super simple, but can be a great way to differentiate between some of the classic ideas. It's basically a method where you add a simple word to make a post seasonal or numerical such as a March makeup bag or ten ways to stay motivated this Winter.

Scrolling Through The Internet | Whether it's looking at pictures on Pinterest or scouring the beauty page on Bloglovin, you can get out of the rut quite quickly by inspiring yourself with other blogs. I actually find it inspires me to look at blog posts I've previously worked on and seeing if I can update these in any way. I particularly like doing this with monthly posts such as to-do lists or seasonal makeup.

The Three Word Method | As the table below suggests, I often use this to create blog post ideas when I'm in a rut. I simply pick a starting word from the first column, follow it up with one from the second and finish it off with one from the last column. For example easy Summer lipsticks, a high street favourite and pink Lush favourites are three that I have simply made up in seconds. This I created table is great for beauty blog posts, but I've also created a table for lifestyle and interior posts too to ensure that my ideas keep flowing.

Winter Beauty Picks

Winter Beauty Picks
I feel like this Winter has been one of the coldest I can remember. Although it's not even February yet and I'm already dreaming of the warmer, Spring days, I have been embracing this season fully. This has made me reminisce over the past couple of months and the beauty products I have been loving. From deep hydrating treatments to fresh, new makeup additions, I am sharing with you my top Winter beauty picks today.

The Lush Prince Charming Shower Cream has been a new addition to my bath time routine as this marshmallow scented offering nourishes the skin whilst you bathe, keeping my dehydrated body moisturised. Another way I've been ensuring that my dry skin is kept at bay is by body brushing using my Mio Body Brush. This enables me to exfoliate my body quickly, whilst promoting circulation, I like to do it both dry and in the bath for an all over glow.

Luckily I got quite a few new perfumes for Christmas so my collection is now overflowing. My top pick is currently the Paco Rabanne Olympéa fragrance which delivers a grown up, lingering scent that has notes of salty vanilla, cashmere wood and green mandarin.

I have upped my skincare during this season, but I haven't trialled many new products lately as I've opted for old favourites instead. The Aesop Fabulous Face Oil* is perfect for my parched Winter skin as it gives me a radiance boost which is great for under makeup, whilst it works as a dreamy overnight treatment. Another skincare favourite of mine has been the Pixi Glow Tonic, which pretty much does what it says on the tin - Add a healthy glow, whilst banishing dry areas and pesky blemishes.

Although I love dewy skin, I do like to control how much glow I have. I've recently re-discovered the Nars Soft Velvet Loose Powder, a flesh toned face powder that helps to banish excess oil and keep my makeup looking fresher for longer. As for blusher, I have been smitten with the NYX Ombre Mauve Me Blush lately as it perks up the skin without adding any excessive glitter to the face. I've been loving using a matte brown eyeshadow through my crease and a highlighter, specifically The Balm's Mary Lou Manizer in the inner corners of my eyes to brighten and define. Talking of highlighter, the Cover FX Moonlight Enhancer Drops were introduced to my routine back in the Autumn, but during these Winter months I have been reaching for it more and more to give a healthy sheen to my cheeks.

The Underrated Liquid Lipsticks

This is my second lipstick post in two days, so I think it's safe to say that I'm having a bit of a moment with them right now. The liquid lipstick trend doesn't seem to be going anywhere and my collection is every growing too, so I thought I would share with you my thoughts on The Balm's Meet Matt(e) Hughes Lipsticks which are incredibly underrated, but have been a favourite of mine recently.

These mint scented offerings come in a range of colours, from a vibrant coral to a vivid hot pink. Two of my top finds have been Committed, a pink nude and Adoring, a dark red hue. They are super easy to apply, dry matte and they sit for hours on the lips without budging. The element which makes these stand out above the rest is that, like the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, they can be re-applied without running the risk of crumbling or feeling uncomfortable. Although Adoring needs a few layers to build up the colour, it doesn't take long to build up an opaque tone. If you're looking for a quick and easy application I wouldn't recommend it though, but instead Committed is the perfect option.

The two hues are very dreamy, both in finish and formula, making these a very welcome addition to my makeup bag.

Easy Pink Lipsticks To Wear Daily

With Valentine's Day fast approaching I have made it my mission to bring out the pink lipsticks, both vibrant and subtle. Everyday lipstick hues are something I've been collecting for some time now, so inspired by Jodie's blog post, I thought I would share with you my top easy to use pink picks.

A new addition to my collection is the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick; a recent release that matches the infamous Pillow Talk lip liner. Although this offering is teetering more on a nude hue, it still resembles a natural lip colour. It's super comfortable to wear and the matte formula makes it a more grown-up looking pink.

When swatched, the L'Oreal Eva's Nude lipstick appears coral. The name obviously suggests its a nude, but on the lips it's the prettiest blush pink. It's suits my complexion and I have been reaching for it on a daily basis recently, especially when I'm pairing it with a pink high neck jumper. Although it's not the most long lasting lipstick I've ever used, it's super easy to re-apply throughout the day.

I recently dug out the YSL Nude In Private; a pink offering with a super creamy formula, a delicious watermelon scent and the power to keep my lips hydrated for hours. The finish is a gloss-balm hybrid and it's the perfect everyday nude.

Although I like lipsticks to last throughout the day, I tend to reach for more moisturising ones rather than matte liquid lipsticks, especially if I'm just popping out. The Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments -especially the shade Petal- are perfect if you want to add a little colour to your lips whilst keeping them soft, something that I find harder to do in these chillier months.

What lipsticks do you wear on a daily basis?

Keeping Your Blog Photography Interesting: Backgrounds and Props

Recently I've been stuck in a rut with my blog photography and if I don't like the images I've taken, the post never tends to get written either. During the Winter it can be easy to get caught up in feeling uninspired when it comes to photography due to the dull, dark days and the shorter daylight hours in which you can get a decent photograph. I thought I would share with you my top tips on using backgrounds and props to spruce up your blog photography.

Backgrounds | Pinterest is 100% the place I head to whenever I need to spruce up my blog. Everyone's images are always stunning and they help inspire me when I am in need of some new blog backgrounds. I don't stick to a theme, although I do go through phases of what I do and don't like. For me, darker backgrounds like marble are perfect for low light days, whereas textured blankets or coloured card is great if you struggle to photograph when there's blue skies outside like myself.

Some backgrounds that you can use in your blog photography:

- Marble adhesive which can be found in Wilkinsons.
- Textures in the form of blankets, throws and rugs. This Urban Outfitters Pom Pom offering is my absolute favourite - It's in the sale too!
- A sheet of coloured card or paper. I think a pink or yellow background would look gorgeous for contrasting certain products again it.
- Place products on top of a mirror for a very arty shot.
- Use prints as a background. If they're any other colour than white they can be a great fall back if the lighting isn't great.
- Use clothes. I have a rose gold top that I'm currently smitten with.
- DIY Wooden Board (Like this one that I found on Pinterest)

Props | Whenever I'm in a rut with my blog photography I always go on a hunt for some new props to help motivate me and refresh my ideas. Pink is a common trend at the moment and I can't say I'm disappointed, as I love anything rose gold hued or that will no doubt make my images appear prettier. Flowers are currently my favourite and I tend to pick up a bunch that has a range of colours so that I can use them time and time again. Whether it's having them out of focus in the background of a dreamy photograph, or scattering the petals around a flatlay, there are a variety of ways a cheap bunch of flowers can be used multiple times.

Here are some blog props ideas that I love to use:

- These Paperchase Copper Bells make a regular appearance in my photographs.
- Calendars, notepads and diaries.
- Flowers and cacti.
- Clothing; whether it's a patterned scarf or a monochrome skirt.
- Books, your laptop or phone.
- Bracelets, bobby pins and nail polish.
- Tissue paper (I particularly like this when snapping hard to photograph products like a Lush bath bomb or perfume bottle)

Lush Valentine's Day Picks

Lush Valentine's Day Collection 2017
Whenever a new Lush collection is released, I always have to make an order to replenish my stocks. I have to admit that I wasn't expecting too much from the Valentine's range, but was pleasantly surprised with the items they have on offer and how delicious they all smell - A new favourite collection in my eyes.

When doing my Lush order, the Unicorn Horn was top of my list as this multicoloured choice is the perfect pick me up at this time of year if you're like me and you're mourning the loss of Lush's christmas range. The Unicorn Horn this year is miles better than it ever has been, both in vibrancy and scent. With added neroli and lavender oil, it's no wonder that this is one of my top Winter bath must haves.

Prince Charming was the item that's exceeded my expectations the most; not only does this shower cream nourish the skin whilst you bathe, it also smells like a turkish delight marshmallow hybrid, leaving a delicious scent all over the body.

I wasn't too sure about the Love Bug Bubble Bar when I first set eyes on it and I've got to admit that I got it purely because it reminds me of Beverly Goldberg from The Goldbergs. The invigorating peppermint oil is definitely apparent from the first sniff, but afterwards the geranium oil definitely comes through, making this bubble bar smell slightly sweet.

I was expecting the Cupid Bow's to smell floral due to the added violet leaf and rose petal scents, but I actually think it smells slightly fruity, smelling a bit like my favourite Summer green smoothie. It turns the water foamy and has a dreamy pink hue to it, perfect for a Valentine's Day treat.

Rose Bombshell was one of my favourites from last year, so as soon as I spotted it on the Lush site I knew I had to add at least one or two to my order. I always gravitate towards rose scents as they are perfectly relaxing, yet uplifting mood boasters and this bath bomb in particular leaves a delicate scent on the skin.

Sick Day Beauty Essentials

This time of year I usually spend my days with a sniffle, a sore throat or just feeling a little bit under the weather. It's chilly outside daily now and although it's not the most glamorous topic to talk about, I thought I would share with you my sick day essentials.

I always keep a stash of vitamin c and zinc tablets in my kitchen draw for when I want to feel better quickly. A hot bath usually helps too, the Lush Unicorn Horn being my first port of call at the moment as the lavender scents helps soothe me to sleep too. I'm not sure about you, but when I'm having a sick day, I cannot be bothered to moisturise my whole body, so the Lush Ro's Argan Oil is the perfect addition to your bath time routine as it allows you to skip the post-bath moisturising step. The L'Occtiane Almond Shower Oil works in a similar way, lathering up to a nourishing foam that has a delicious scent.

Aside from the array of tablets I take and the lotions I apply, I also rely on skincare to keep my skin from feeling dehydrated. I actually find having a thorough cleanse and moisturise makes me feel better and perks me up. The Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel refreshes my lacklustre skin, whilst the Aesop Mandarin Facial Cream* adds a generous boost of hydration too. Throughout the day, I like to spritz the Avene Thermale Spray* onto my face, along the inside of my arms and on my belly too if I feel like I need a pick me up.

As my lips tend to get dehydrated very quickly when I'm feeling ill, lip balm and scrub are an essential of mine. The Nuxe Reve De Miel* is a thick balm that can be applied heavily onto the lips for a deep, overnight treatment to help soothe and heal the lips.

5 Things I've Been Loving Recently

I still feel like Christmas was only yesterday, yet I'm already getting excited for Easter (I think it's got something to do with the endless amount of mini eggs I've been eating). Today I thought I would share with you five things that I've been loving recently.

Harry Potter | I'm sure you're under no illusion about how much I love Harry Potter. Especially around this time of year when you can feel rather glum, I always like to delve into the Wizarding World whether it's via film or book. I can't wait to get Fantastic Beasts on DVD because I've been loving reading the screenplay!

A Cosy Evening In | "Cosy" is definitely my buzz word this Winter and I've been using it beyond belief. Snuggling under several blankets with a film and having a candle lit bath before hopping into a bed with a book is my favourite thing at the moment. I've had a bad back this week, so I've been ever so grateful for hot water bottles and deep heat to help soothe me after a long day. Diptyque candles are currently filling my wishlist (the gorgeous Limited Edition Valentine's offering is too cute to resist!) and I have my eye on some new loungewear too - This Avocado PJ Set is still sitting in my saved section.

My Achievements | I've never been one to talk about my achievements, in fact I went through a stage of purposely playing myself down. This year I made it my mission to tweet whenever I was happy about something to do with my blog and to share more about what I do to the people around me. I've got some great content coming up on my blog and this week has been full of exciting emails that I can't wait to share with you either.

New Series | Sherlock was one of the series that was on my to-watch list in 2016, but I never got around to watching it until this month. Although they are hour and a half long episodes, it's a super easy series to get through. The Goldbergs, my top feel good pick, has a new series out at the moment and I've been loving having the old back to back episodes to watch whenever I please.

Embracing Every Event | Whether it's gazing at the full moon or prepping for Valentine's Day, I want to make sure that each season and event is recognised - mainly to make sure I'm kept busy at this time of year. I've been using this new year as an excuse to spruce up and start afresh, starting with my blog and then making small changes in my day-to-day life too.

Jo Malone Top Picks

When I decide to treat myself to a luxe item there's a few brands that always spring to mind, Jo Malone being one of them. From their dreamy colognes to cosy candles, I've built up quite a collection over the years, so today I thought I would share with you my top picks.

First up is the Orange Blossom Bath Oil, a gorgeous bathroom addition that not only fills the air with a beautiful fruity fragrance, but also adds a silky feel to the body whilst fragrancing it lightly. Some of the scents come in glass bottles which would make for a lovely, long lasting gift - As the frosted exterior looks incredibly luxe.

People have been incredibly generous and has bought most of my Jo Malone Colognes for me, the first being a long term favourite of mine - Peony and Blush Suede. This distinctive scent has gained me lots of compliments as the floral fragrance is long lasting and settles lovely on the skin.

Next up is Velvet Rose and Oud, a perfume that has a high price point due to it being part of the Intense Cologne, but is one that's worth every penny to me. With a top note of warm clove, heart note of damask rose and complimentary base note of smoky oud, this scent had me at first sniff.

One fragrance, that although didn't disappoint in scent, was a let down in the longevity of the bottle is the Nectarine Blossom and Honey offering. I spoke about this during the Summer, but by the start of Autumn I was all out, something that doesn't happen very often with a big bottle of Jo Malone. Saying that, the concoction of nectarine, peach and honey makes this scent super dreamy in the warmer months.
The newest addition to my collection is White Jasmine and Mint, a great transitional fragrance that can be worn throughout the year. I never thought that this combination would work, but the freshness of both scents makes it suitable for Spring, however the base note of mate leaf makes it very fitting for Autumn.

If you didn't want to purchase a cologne, then instead I would recommend one of their candles. Even when they're not lit they scent the room in which they're placed and I think that's why I've been so smitten with the Peony and Blush Suede Candle. With rose and honey accents along with the freshness of peony, this floral scent continues to be my favourite concoction from Jo Malone.

Makeup That Adds Just The Right Amount Of Radiance

This time of year is all about injecting more moisture into my skincare routine, as my dry complexion starts feeling even more dehydrated. Although I love embracing the glowy look during the hotter months too, during the colder seasons I tend to rely on products to do it for me. Today I am sharing with you my top makeup picks for adding radiance to your skin.

In terms of foundation, I like to opt for a medium coverage base that can be built up in layers using my new Real Techniques Sponge. The Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation has been the one I reach for the most at the moment, as it looks incredible on the skin whilst adding hydration. If I need something that will last all day without budging, then the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation is a perfect pick.

If you want to set your base without dulling the skin then I can't recommend the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Trio enough. With a pearl hued powder that illuminates the skin, a beige powder that blurs imperfections and a sun kissed offering which delivers definition to the face, all three of these powders are an essential of mine to treat my dull skin woes.

Blushers don't have to just add colour to the cheeks; if you chose wisely they can add radiance too. The Nars Fevror Duo is perfect for adding a healthy sheen to your complexion without being too overpowering.

Of course, the easiest way to add a glow is through highlighters and I've got a fair few that I love using. I'm sure you're sick of hearing about my love for the Cover FX Moonlight Enhancer Drops. They can be added into your foundation or used on the tops of your cheekbones for a dewy, yet dreamy finish that will no doubt have you smitten. Another favourite of mine is the Nars Rigel Eyeshadow for the inner corner of my eyes and The Balm's Mary Lou Manizer, a honey hued pick that I've recently pulled out of my collection that never fails to create a beautiful radiance.

Here are some of my other top glowy picks:

10 Self-Care Activities To Do This Season

I'm still trying to catch up on work since having time off over the Christmas period, so after a hectic couple of weeks, I took this weekend off to relax and unwind. I have a self-care routine that I love to do whenever I'm feeling overwhelmed and after seeing posts like these floating around, I thought I would share with you my top 10 self-care activities to do.

Stick On Your Favourite TV Box Set or Film Series | For me, I like to stick on a my favourite comedy series for a few hours tucked up on the sofa or watch Harry Potter for the 100th in front of the fire with a mug of hot chocolate.

Bake or Cook Your Favourite Food | I have many comfort food favourites that pick me up after a hard day, in fact I sometimes schedule them in throughout the week if I know i'm going to have a long day at work. Toad in the hole is one of my childhood favourites and pizza never fails either!

Dance Around or Play A Game | I've got several playlists on Spotify that are made for when I need a dance around including a Frankie and Benny's one. If you're not a dance enthusiast then playing a game with your family is another way that will no doubt put a smile on your face.

Read A Book Before Bed | Whenever I need to take some time out, I like to go to bed early and delve into a book. It's a great way to lose yourself for a few hours and finishing a book is incredibly satisfying as well.

A Candle Lit Bath | I've got into a bit of ritual with this lately. Having my Diptyque candles scattered around my bath, pop in my favourite Lush bath bomb and then hop in with a book for half an hour.

Feel The Cold Breeze On Your Face | Whether it's walking to shop or walking for a couple of hours around my local woods, feeling the cold freeze on my face is one of the best feelings. I actually like getting in from the cold, wrapping up in front of the fire and putting on my slippers to keep my feet toasty.

Turn Off Your Phone | I couldn't recommend getting away from social media or turning your phone off enough especially if you're feeling overwhelmed. Any of these activities in this list can be great excuses to not stare at the screen.

A Fresh Set Of Pyjamas | During the Winter, I'm always drawn to the nightwear section of the ASOS site and I have been eyeing up a few picks recently like this Avocado Set. Whether you like them fresh and crisp or warmed up via the radiator, a new set of pyjamas can be a great pick me up.

Buy Yourself Some Flowers | Don't get wrong, nothing will be better than buying peonies during the Summertime, but there are still gorgeous flowers that you can be at the supermarket to add colour to your home and generally just brighten the place up.

Organising and Switching Up My Makeup This Winter

I'll be honest, I'm the worst for hoarding makeup; storing away products for months on end without touching them. I've made it my mission this year to keep switching up my makeup each month and season to ensure that I get use out of all of my old favourites and new finds.

Every season, I check the sell by dates on my makeup; making sure no products have dried up, been sitting there for longer than they need to be and rotating my products regular so they get more use. Decluttering and shrinking my collection can be difficult, so I wanted to share with you how I will be switching my makeup up for Winter and some top tips too.

During the Winter months I tend to reach for dewy, medium coverage bases, however Summer is usually filled with products that will keep excess shine at bay. Instead of sticking to the same products for weeks on end, I want to set myself the task of switching a piece of my makeup everyday, making sure I get use out of more of my collection. For instance, on Monday I will use my Tarte True Love Blush, on Tuesday I will use my Charlotte Tilbury Ecstasy pick and on Wednesday I will try and use a lipstick I haven't used in a while.

This Winter it's all about experimenting with my ever growing collection of highlighters. I love glowing skin, but I always go through a phase of only using a particular one before getting bored and using another. I want to mix it up, using a different one for different parts of my face to ensure that I get the perfect overall glow about myself. The Balm's Mary Lou Manizer and Becca Champagne Pop are all on my list to use more over the next couple of weeks since I've been reaching for the Cover FX Moonlight Enhancer Drops a lot instead.

As for foundation, I want to use the last of my Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue base up before buying a new one for the Spring and Summer period. I still keep to the three month rule, making sure that I either rekindle the love or rehome a particular product if I haven't used it in a couple of months so I've no makeup is gathering dust at the back of my storage.

Swoon Worthy Packaging

When buying new makeup or going on the hunt for a new perfume, I've got to admit that the exterior of the product sometimes seals the deal, and I'm often drawn to those with copper, gold or pink hues. When I saw From Roses do a similar post, I knew I wanted to create my own, so here are my top swoon worthy packaging picks.

You would have seen the Aerin Lilac Path perfume all over my blog at the moment since I got it for Christmas and I've got to say that it is one of, if not my favourite, item at the moment. Not only does it smell of flowers and reminisce of Spring, but the precious stone on the lid makes it incredibly dreamy to look at once placed on a dressing table. Perfumes always tends to have pretty packaging and Jo Malone is another example of this - Their White Jasmine and Mint Cologne is a favourite of mine at the moment.

The Becca Split Pan Blusher and Hourglass Surreal Light Palette were two of my top purchases of 2016 and it's not only for their dreamy exteriors. The Hourglass offering is contained in marble packaging and inside there are five powders that cover all of your makeup needs, from a highlighter perfect for strobing to a powder that's great for mattifying the skin naturally. The Split Pans are incredibly hard to get hold of now, so I'm going to limit how much I talk about them, all I will say is that Becca as a brand is high quality and divine.

Pretty products don't have to be enclosed in pink or rose gold packaging to make them aesthetically pleasing, in fact the Nars and Aesop exteriors are some of my favourites. The Kalahari Duo Eyeshadow Palette is a go-to of mine and looks perfect placed in my makeup bag too - A win win! If you like sleek looking packaging and luxe products then I couldn't recommend Tom Ford enough, especially their Lips and Boys Lipsticks

Would this line up really be complete without a mention of Diptyque? Their candles are scattered throughout my home and although I only like to light them on special occasions, once I use them up, they make for the perfect beauty storage - I like to store nail vanishes or cotton buds in them!

Do you love the pretty packaging of products too?

January Pick Me Ups

Does anyone feel as though this January has just flown by? I can't believe it's the 13th already. Now that the snow is upon us, I thought that there wasn't a more fitting time to share with you my top January pick me ups.

I love nothing more than being curled up watching or reading Harry Potter, with a bundle of blankets and a mug of hot chocolate with extra marshmallows. For an extra treat, I pop on a face mask and my go-to pick at the moment has got to be the Aesop Primrose Cleansing Masque. It's super cleansing, whilst still leaving my skin feeling nourished. For an extra boost of hydration, I have been loving using the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream

It can be easy to neglect your body at this time of year, especially when it's wrapped underneath layers and layers of clothing. I've turned my hand to body brushing at the moment to improve circulation and add an overall radiance to the body; perfect if you want to perk up the skin with fake tan or if you want to keep dry skin at bay. To finish, I love applying the Laura Mercier Creme Brûlée Souffle from head to toe to give my body a sweet treat this Winter.

An instant pick me up of mine is treating my nails to a pamper. The Lush Lemony Flutter is fantastic at nourishing the cuticles and getting rid of dehydrated patches, before applying a thicker layer of my hand cream of choice to act as a hand mask before using an Essie Nail Vanish

Aside from anything relating to beauty, I have been thoroughly enjoying snuggling by the fire in a fresh set of PJ's and the dressing gown I got for Christmas. In fact I've been eyeing up some new loungewear bits to keep me warm this Winter - Including this Rainbow PJ Set offering. I've been trying to improve the way I eat this month after over indulging in one too many chocolates, so I have pulled out my favourite mushroom rice noodle recipe and sweet potato and chickpea burgers to keep me warm on the inside this month too.

Everyday Winter Makeup

With every new season, I try and make the effort to switch up my makeup and sport any new products I've bought. Today I am sharing with you my winter makeup that I wear on a regular basis.

A repurchase of mine has been the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum, a glowy base that delivers a flawless finish and medium coverage, whilst being extremely hydrating too. After concealing any blemishes and impurities with the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer, a new favourite of mine, I go in with a liquid highlighter to add a sheen to the tops of my cheekbones. In the Winter, I always opt for a dewy look and the Cover FX Moonlight Enhancer Drops are still a firm favourite in my makeup routine for enhancing my contour, however I do usually turn to the Nars Copacabana Illuminator if I want to add some extra glow to my base product.

During the colder season, I always want to opt for brighter blushers as I want to perk up my skin and avoid my complexion too lacklustre. I'm always torn between the Nars Fevror Blusher Duo or Hourglass Luminous Flush as to what I apply, so instead I've been reaching for them both and switching it up depending on what lip product I use.

I've been keeping my eyes quite minimal this season because I find my lids get rather dry and irritated during the colder months. I usually opt for a slight winged eyeliner using the L'Oreal Superliner and then add volume to my lashes using the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

During Winter, I tend to reach for a variety of lipsticks to switch up my makeup as they're super easy to change a look from day to night. Recently I picked out the YSL Nude In Private Lipstick from the back of my drawer and I have now been wearing it daily as its the perfect everyday nude. Another favourite of mine has been the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, which come in an array of shades, such as Cruella, one of my top picks that suits my complexion down to a tee and suits all occasions too.

Winter Wardrobe Wishlist

I know that December is technically the start of Winter, but I find the chillier days and cosy nights start in January after the festive period is done and dusted. Of course, a new season means a lot of scrolling through ASOS (and making a few orders too!), so today I thought I'd share with you my top finds. Sit back, grab a cup of hot chocolate and try to not make your bank account cry.

Coats and Jackets | I've been pretty good this year as I actually found a coat that I fell in love with and have worn ever since. Saying that, I have my eye on a few more, especially lightweight trench coats that can easily transition into the Spring months too. This ASOS Longline Bomber looks as if it would be a great addition to my wardrobe as the simple design would go with a variety of outfits and would be super easy to throw on too.

Pink Jumper Picks | Pink has recently become a staple in my wardrobe and, as it's incredibly cold, I like nothing more than layering up with jumpers. Embroidery seems to be a common theme throughout my wishlist and this Warehouse Sweatshirt is the perfect addition that would suit cold Spring evenings too. Marks and Spencer has been my go-to shop at the moment, which I never thought I'd ever say, but their Contrasting Edge Jumper is a bargain and too cute to resist. I think pink jumpers go perfectly with midi skirts, especially when you want something comfortable - This Warehouse Pleated Lame Skirt, looks like the perfect metallic option.

Hats, Scarves and Accessories | When you're wrapped up under several layers, sometimes you need a bit of accessorising. Whether it's a fetching pink bobble hat or this Ted Baker Cross Body Bag, I find simple additions to my outfit, usually made up of a jumper and a big coat, makes me feel very put together. Although it's not very practical to wear flats without tights, I can't help but be drawn towards these ASOS Bunny Ballet Pumps - Of course I'm thinking of Spring again!

Keeping It Cosy | This year, I'm all about loungewear, cosy PJ's and fluffy slippers to keep me toasty during the cold mornings and chilly evenings. I like nothing more than being wrapped up in a blanket or two in front of our fire with a hot chocolate, so this ASOS Mono Heart PJ Set is 100% going in my saved list as they're very fitting with valentines day too. I was lucky enough to get a huge, snuggly dressing gown for Christmas, but I think I need this Topshop Teddy Robe to have as an alternative.

4 Books I've Learnt Things From

As you already know, one of my main aims in 2017 is to read more, so today I thought I would share with you the books that feel I've learnt things from over the course of reading them.

Pretty Honest | I picked this up after seeing it on From Roses's blog and I've got to say it's a real gem in my collection. I just keep going back to it and although I was skeptical that as a blogger I wouldn't learn too much from it, I've actually picked up a lot of valuable tips. From skincare to makeup, it's got everything a beauty lover needs and it's perfect when you need to check up on a certain aspect of your routine.

Harry Potter | This is the only fiction offering in this line up and you could say it's odd to include it, but reading Harry Potter especially as an adult has really taught me that it's okay to let your inner child come out. I'm a huge fan of the films and I'm ecstatic that there will be a Fantastic Beast franchise too, so it's no surprise that the books are a regular read of mine, especially when I want to delve into the wizarding world.

Dreamopedia | If you like to learn about dreams and what they mean, but you don't know where to start then I've found the perfect book for you. With simple definitions, this book is perfect for beginners and has really taught me a lot - In fact I refer to it every morning when I wake up before I forget what I've dreamt about.

The Little Book of Hygge* | Some may call it a trend, but I'm absolutely smitten with Hygge and have actually dedicated a whole post to it a couple of months back. This book teaches you about creating a cosy home and practising togetherness, so once you've read this book thoroughly there's no doubt that you will want to bring out all the blankets and splurge on high quality loungewear.

I want to try out some new books including The Life Changing Magic of Not Giving A F*ck and Eat Pretty, so if you've read either of these then do let me know. They look like they would be perfect if you like to read to learn.

Blush Pink Favourites

I've made no secret about how much I am smitten with blush pink products and packaging as their dreamy exterior always lures me in. After becoming increasingly obsessed with Catherine's blog and Instagram, I thought I would share with you my top pink picks that will be sure to have you swooning.

When I think of pretty, rose gold packaging, my mind always wanders to Charlotte Tilbury. Their Magic Foundation is super dreamy and is perfect at perking up the lacklustre skin, delivering medium buildable coverage. The Filmstar Bronze and Glow and Matte Revolution Lipsticks are two of my favourites as well and are definitely worth a swatch if you are in store.

The Nars Rigel Eyeshadow has been a must have in my makeup bag for some time now as it's perfect for highlighting the inner corner of my eyes or brightening the eye area in general, with just a quick sweep of the pink hue across the lids. Another Nars highlighter favourite is the Copacabana Illuminator which can be used to add a sheen to your cheekbones, or it can be mixed in with your foundation for an overall glow.

Although the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes come in an wide range of shades, it's Luminous Flush that continues to wow me with it's radiance inducing, pink powder that never fails to perk up my complexion. The Milani Rose Blusher in Tea Rose is a great addition to your collection, especially if you like your blushers matte, as this pink pick delivers a subtle wash of colour

Next up is perfume and I own an array offerings that not only smell nice, but they're the perfect addition to your dressing table too. The Aerin Lilac Path pick is an absolute dream with a pink precious stone on top that makes it extremely aesthetically pleasing, but it's actually the scent that has me smitten. It's sweet and floral, whilst still being super grown up. If you're looking for a more affordable option then the Paco Robanne Olympia Eau De Parfum is perfect as not only does it appeal to the eye with it's rose gold packaging, it's also a super great fragrance that will make you want to spritz all day long.
