As someone who has been dying my hair red for many years now, you'd think I would have discovered the life changing magic of brow tinting. I think as someone who is quite precious when it comes to their own eyebrows, I didn't like the idea of having someone else dye them, pluck them or touch them in any way, so when I discovered that you could do it for yourself at home I was ecstatic.

Although I've never really been that bothered when it came to eyelash tinting as I have naturally dark lashes anyway, I did want to emphasise on the smaller lashes in the outer and inner corners, as these are what deliver fuller, volumised lashes quickly. On lazy weekends, I like nothing more than rolling out of bed without having the spend time doing my makeup and the lash tint has really helped me when it comes to going makeup free.

Today I thought I would share with my top tips on the Colorsport At-Home Eyebrow and Lash Kits.

Prep | Prepping your eyebrows and eyelashes ready for tinting is one of the most important things to do. Make sure you haven't plucked or waxed your eyebrows 72 hours before application, you've done a patch test and that you've removed any traces of makeup with an oil free cleanser will ensure that everything runs smoothly. My number one top tip for dying your eyebrows at home is using petroleum jelly to avoid the dreaded stains. I use this religiously when dying my red hair as I often get odd stains that will only be concealed by using makeup.

Application | When using the eyebrow tinting, this is where it gets fun because it involves you having the mix the two mixtures together and leaves on for 1-5 minutes depending on how dark and intense you want them to be. As for the eyelash tint, this one is slightly easier as there is no mixing involved. All you do is apply the first solution to your eyes using a cotton pad, leave on for a minute and then apply the colour gel to the provided eyelash brush and leave for a minute also. After both processes, you rinse off the products with warm water, then I like to apply some cleanser just to make sure there's nothing left on. You can see a video tutorial here for more info.

Aftercare | The aftercare is pretty low maintenance and although I find that the eyebrow tint lasts way longer than the mascara- which is understandable considerable I cleanse my eyes thoroughly almost daily- both packs enables you to use these multiple times, meaning that they are even more affordable than I first thought. Out of the two, it's the brow tint that has blown me away and I will be continuing to use this every few weeks as I've found that filling in my eyebrows has never been so easy.

Have you tried any at-home treatments?
