As someone who has used glycolic acid toners in some form or other for many, many years, I love when a new product catches my eye. They help to exfoliate, banish blemishes and make your complexion appear brighter. I was skeptical about trying a toning solution for under £10, but after a few goes I knew I was smitten. It really helped my lacklustre skin and when used in the morning before makeup, it made my makeup go on much smoother. Then when used at night, it got rid of any traces of makeup left behind after cleansing.
The product it is most comparable to is the Pixi Glow Tonic and I get a lot of questions about the similarities and differences between the two. From the get go, I noticed that The Ordinary's offering has little to no scent at all for despite having ginseng root, aloe vera and Tasmanian pepper berry in it, whereas Glow Tonic has quite a strong scent. Saying this, some have said that the added rosewater did irritate their skin, so be careful when purchasing if you have sensitive skin. The next difference is the percentage of glycolic acid in it, Pixi's pick coming in at 5% and The Ordinary's being at 7%, but if I'm honest I notice very little difference with how the two perform, if anything I find it slightly more gentle on my skin.
If you're new to trying glycolic acid then I would definitely recommend trying The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toning Solution.
Have you tried this yet?
