Do you run out a foundation and dread having to buy another one? Or can you never stop yourself from buying just one more highlighter? Of course, if I'm particularly excited about a product or new release then there are exceptions, but today's post is all about the products I love to buy and the one's I'm not keen on splurging on.
Products I Love To Buy
If you take a look into my makeup collection, you'll probably be hit by the never ending amount of nude lipsticks. I own loads, all in varying colours, but for some reason I will always enjoy buying more whilst on a mission to find the perfect one.
Blushers are one of my biggest vices, I can't help but get drawn to their shimmering formulas and dreamy shades. This has only been an obsession in the recent year or so as before I was never bothered by them; the Nars blushers and Hourglass offerings are two of my favourites, but it doesn't stop there as NYX have quickly become a favourite of mine from the high street - a perfect treat with your Boots advantage card!
Out of everything, there's one item I can't stop buying and that's highlighters. Bronzed, champagne or pearly pink, I have a variety of them in a range of colours to suit all occasions.
I'm pretty certain everyone knows that Essie is hands down my favourite nail vanish brand and whenever I am scouring the aisles of Boots, I can't leave empty handed. They always have 3 for 2 deals on, meaning that my collection is ever growing and I tend to pick up a few new nail vanishes every season to match the changing weather.
Products I Don't Like Buying
I can probably count the primers I would repurchase on one hand as they have never been a part of my makeup routine that I have been experimental with. This one is more about the product I used to hate buying as when I was younger I never understand the purpose of primers, then I started using ones that didn't suit my skin type. As time has passed I've really seen the benefit of them and I can't go a day without using them.
Foundations have never been something I enjoy buying as I find formula hunting and shade matching a little stressful. I always follow my top tips, but when it comes down to it, once I find a foundation I love, I tend to repurchase it over and over instead of trying a new one. Not just this, but I have to cut open the packaging and squeeze every last piece out. The L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion offering and Bourjois Healthy Mix are two bases I come back to.
Skin care is a hard one for me, as I love buying certain aspects of it like moisturisers, toners and oils and once I do purchase them, I always wonder what I did without it. But when it comes to repurchasing micellar waters or cleansers, I have to get every last drop out before splurging. Unlike many other aspects of my makeup and body care routine, I can actually stop myself from cracking open a second tub or tube before the first one is finished.
