I feel like I'm going to be living out of a makeup bag for the next couple of weeks on and off, due to having two holidays booked back to back. Although I'm getting better at packing, my extensive makeup collection makes it hard to pack a makeup bag that is varied enough for a variety of looks, yet doesn't mean I have to take another suitcase with me.
I've been really into priming my skin before foundation, so it was hard to decide which one I would take. Although the Glossier Priming Moisturiser with the Becca Back Light Priming Filter* is my current favourite duo, I think that havening two in my small makeup bag would be pushing it for space, so instead I have opted for the Nars Radiance Primer. It's still super nourishing, but helps to perk up the complexion and extend the longevity of my base.
The newest addition to my makeup bag is the Becca Sunchaser Palette which I won in India's giveaway so I thought I'd give it a good try whilst on holiday. It's got a warm bronzer, a matte perky peach and then Opal, the highlighter from Becca I've been meaning to try for the longest time. Already the stand out shade to me is the highlighter, but it's so handy having a powder blusher and bronzer in one palette meaning I don't have to take separate ones - the big mirror is super handy too.
I was tempted to pack my Hourglass Surreal Light Palette, but instead settled on bringing the Bourjois Java Rice Powder. When travelling, I like to take as few powders as possible to reduce the risk of any smashing, so bringing a loose powder is the perfect alternative. When lightly applied across the face, it illuminates al the right places, whilst still keeping your makeup in place, plus if you start to build it up it can mattify too.
As I've previously mentioned, I'm trying to avoid too many powder products to avoid any accidents. I'm pretty certain that I won't want to wear eyeshadow anyway as it's due to be quite hot, but I thought I'd pack some cream eyeshadow offerings to create an easy, soft smoky eye if needs be. The 3ina Cream Eyeshadow* is the one I'm currently trialling.
I've packed my usual mascara, eyeliner and eyebrow products as these are the items that rarely ever change, although I've got my eye on a few new products that I'm going to pick up from Sephora, so my makeup bag might be a bit of a squeeze on the way home.
