Visiting a pumpkin patch has been on my to-do list for a couple of years now and last week I finally went to one. I wanted to get into an Autumnal mood and I'm so glad that I did because now I feel ready for the colder months ahead. I picked up a few pumpkins and squashes to stack in front of our fireplace waiting to be carved and cooked - Halloween is here!
The pumpkin patch was an experience that I'll definitely be doing again next year. It was amazing seeing so many pumpkins, squash and other vegetables in one area and I could have spent hours exploring. I loved foraging for the right shape and sized pumpkin to carve and having the ability to pick from hundreds! Wrapped up warm in a scarf and thick cardigan, it made me feel very autumnal and cosy - We even came home to a steaming hot meal which warmed us up.
I've draped the skeleton shaped bunting across my fireplace and put the tea lights in our carved pumpkins, whilst we watch horror films and spooky programmes (have you watched series 2 of Stranger Things yet?). Although I'm not dressing up, I can't help but paint my nails with a vampy dark hue, sport a burgundy lip and go a little darker on the eye makeup too. I want something long lasting for my lipstick as I'm planning on eating all the sweets and miniature chocolate.
Although I've been enjoying watching horror films, nothing quite beats Harry Potter and Halloween editions of my favourite TV programmes when cosied up with blankets, hot chocolate and candles.
What are you doing this Halloween?
