The Products That Have Surprised Me Recently

I've been trialling lots of products recently, and although some of them are exactly how I imagined them to be, others have surprised me with how they have worked. Here are a few of the products that recently surprised me:

Before trying Huda Beauty, I had the impression that it'd be makeup for those who liked a stronger, more 'instagrammable' worthy look. The liquid lipsticks shades always appealed to me, but I was never convinced that the formula would actually be for me (and dare I say it, I thought it was hyped up!). To my surprise, they've quickly become one of my favourites, as they're super lightweight and can be reapplied like a dream without flaking or caking. I have the Mini Nude Collection* and I love that I have four shades to mix and match with.

Glossier are a brand that I'm so glad I discovered this year, but there are a few products that I didn't think would be my favourite; the Wowder Face Powder being one of them. It wasn't that I didn't think I'd like it, I just didn't expect it to be as good as it actually is. It improves the longevity of my makeup like no other, and I've put it to the test in multiple situations including on nights out and outdoor exercising - This does not budge.

For hair, whenever anything says that it's a spray-in and leave formula, I tend to steer clear because they often make my hair feel crispy and look greasy. When I got sent the Mane 'n Tale Detangler Spray*, I've got to admit I put it away for a while and forgot about it, but when my hair got extremely knotted after I had my hair up exercising, I decided to give this a go. As someone with curly hair, my childhood was mostly having a hair brush tugged through my hair, tears running down my face and my ears getting caught up in the brushing too. This stuff honestly makes hair brushing a dream and it's the first detangler spray that I've been able to use on wet hair and it not make my hair a weird, greasy, too-sleek finish.

Initially when I tried out the Bilou Cream Foams* I wasn't impressed, in fact I hated the tacky feeling it left on my arms so much that I put them in my 'to give away' pile. One night, my legs were feeling a little on the dry side and I only had a can of Bilou to hand, so I quickly sprayed a little bit of the Cotton Candy scent on my limbs and left the house. I was so surprised at how well it worked at quickly nourishing and sinking into the skin without leaving that dreaded tacky feeling and I still have no idea why it works on my legs, but not the rest of my body.

Another body product that surprised me was the Glossier Body Hero Oil Wash as I bought it on a whim and after seeing several online reviews, and I was skeptical as to whether I would like the scent. It was love at first sniff honestly and I didn't quite expect it to be as good as it actually is - A success!

I first clocked the Fresh Rose Face Mask* on holiday in Paris back in August, but I was originally put off by the scent of it as it wasn't really the floral scent that I had hoped for. When Fresh kindly sent me over a parcel this was in it and I can't believe how much the scent has changed - It must have just been overwhelming in Sephora at the time. This mask has exceeded my expectations, keeping my skin nourished and radiant.
