Products That Have Surprised Me

There's so many products on the market that when I hear a product is hyped, I instantly have high hopes (although sometimes I'm still wary) and when it's not talked about as much, I always assume it isn't as good. This of course isn't the case and over the past few months I've discovered a few new favourites and I wanted to give you the run down on the items that have surprised me the most.

When I first got the Pixi Palette Cholette* I knew it'd be good for if I travel anywhere as it has eyeshadow, eyebrow and blusher shades, but I wasn't sure how much I'd use it on a  day-to-day basis. The dark brown eyeshadow shade is the perfect hue for my brows, two of the eyeshadow duos are surprisingly buttery and gorgeous to wear (especially with a tan!) and the top coral blush is great when you want to add a pop of colour.

Anastasia Beverly Hills gets a lot of hype around their products, especially their eyeshadow palettes, but after the disappointment that people had around their Subculture offering, I didn't expect all that lot from their newest Soft Glam Palette*. Instantly the shades caught my eye, the formula was extremely blendable and I felt like I could wear the looks from day to night. The Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette* was the complete opposite for me, as it had so much hype around it and the photographs online never did it justice, I was expecting to not like it, but it's now one of my most used and loved palettes in my collection.

A few months back now, Drunk Elephant kindly sent over a few of their minis and inside was the Umbra Sheer SPF* which I used daily for as long as I could with the amount I got. I was so surprised by how much I liked it as I'm ultra fussy with what ones I can use because they either leave a white cast to your face or they clog your pores, but this one did neither. I'm happy to say I've got a full sized version now.

I haven't used Benefit in a while, but after getting I won a fair few of their products, I got to try out the products I used to use when I was a teen. The box blushers haven't been in my collection for years as I used to be obsessed with them, but thought I'd move on and never came back to them. Coralista and Gold Rush* are two of my favourites as their coral hues look effortlessly natural on my complexion, giving a gorgeous glow and colour to the complexion.

There's something about after sun that doesn't excite me and yes the Nuxe Refreshing After-Sun Body Lotion* smelt nice, but when applying it I didn't think it'd do much. How wrong was I? Very! It claims to prolong your tan by 2 weeks and it does, making sure that it doesn't look dry or red either. It soothes, cools and makes my tan darker which is crazy - plus it smells delicious.

When it comes to skincare, I'm quite fussy now whereas I never used to be meaning I have high expectations. The Caolion Cleansing Stick* is one that I'm coming to an end to now, but I thoroughly enjoyed it to my surprise. I wasn't expecting much, certainly that it would remove my makeup as well as it has done and despite the oilier formula it doesn't leave my skin feeling clogged either.
