I already have quite the collection of perfumes as I'm a bit of a hoarder of old, empty bottles and keeping my most loved for a special occasion, but whenever I get a new bottle I always get excited and when the Miller Harris Powdered Veil* and Peau Santal* duo came through the door it felt like all my Christmases had come at once.
For me, the name Powdered Veil reminds me of soft roses and floral scents, but I actually find it pulls a little deeper and more Autumnal on me meaning this is probably a scent I'll save for the cooler months. It's one I can imagine being worn when I'm wrapped up under several layers and hiding from the frost.
In comparison, Peau Santal sits a lot fresher on my skin than the notes would suggest and is the perfect fit for the warmer weather especially in the evenings and for date nights. They both last an impressive amount of time on the skin, but I'm looking forward to trying them out further and working out if they work in conjunction with some of my other perfumes too.
After the success of the Maison Margiela Flower Market* perfume, I knew I wanted to try out more of them, Lazy Sunday Afternoon* being next on the list and I was lucky enough to be sent it by World Duty Free! I've been wearing it everyday since I got it and I thought I would share with you my thoughts.
I've been looking for a clean, fresh fragrance for some time now as most of my collection is floral and I wanted to switch up the kind of scent I wear on a day to day basis. Although I've seen people say this is subtle on the skin, I do find that it's rather sharp too. This doesn't necessarily mean that it's bad though as I find that it means it lasts longer the worn.
It's not powdery at all, which is what I was worried about nor is it too overpowering, settling into the skin as the day goes on, becoming more and more natural. You don't need too many sprays to fulfil your perfume needs, but I do get a little bit carried away and end up dosing myself in it - oops! All of their scents are simple, yet totally beautiful and I feel like this is yet another one great for an occasion like wedding, party or just to make everyday an occasion like I have.
Have you tried any of these scents?
If a product is marked with a * it is a PR sample.
