There are three types of highlighter formulas; powder, cream and liquid, the latter being the type I don't have a lot of because I'm rather picky with how they look and feel on my skin. The Nars Copacabana Illuminator and NYX Born To Glow Liquid Highlighter are dupes for each other and they're one of my favourite for creating that 'wet sheen' look.
I feel like I've spoken about the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand a lot, but it's just amazing. It's long lasting despite being a liquid formula and the colour is perfect for my skin tone. The Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter* is similar, but instead can be used all over as a primer to illuminate my whole complexion.
For the whole body there's the new Sol De Janeiro Ipanema Body Oil* which smells absolutely divine and gives your limbs a gorgeous glow all over - plus you can use it on the face too, which I've tried and it has amazing longevity just like it does on your body.
The Benefit Dandelion Shy Beam* is one that I don't get much use out of unless it's along the brow bone as it's very pale in tone and because it's a soft-matte nude tone it doesn't blend well into my cheeks and instead looks out of place.
Cream highlighters are always hit and miss for me as they tend to slip and slide around the face making a very hot mess. Saying that there's still a few that I enjoy including a long time favourite of mine, the Topshop Gleam Got Pot which is one of my favourite shades for the colder months. The Glossier Quartz Haloscope is unlike any of cream highlighter I've tried as it's not incredible pigmented, but it does give off a natural sheen to the skin which looks great when you're having a good skin day. I haven't been using it as much as I have done in the past, so it's not seen the light of day for a while.
Powders are what make up most of my collection and there are some real gems in there. The Balm's Mary Lou Manizer is an OG product that I'm sure everybody has heard of (if not owned) and this honey hued pick is still one one of favourites several years later. My other favourite if I had to chose is the Anastasia beverly Hills Amrezy Highlighter* which is fairly similar, but the way it looks on my cheeks and doesn't draw attention to any imperfections or pores is just perfect.
For a budget option there's quite a few, but the Sleek Highlighting Quads* are no doubt some of the best ones especially as you get four options for under £10 - you really can't go wrong.
I've got a few new additions to my collection in the form of the Pixi Glow-y Gossamer Duos* which are insane. They give the most perfect 'wet glow' to the skin and makes my complexion look bright no matter how lacklustre it actually is underneath.
