I've got to admit retinol has always scared me, but after the introduction of more acids into my routine and getting to know my skin better when it comes to it's reaction to them, I have started getting better at using it. The Drunk Elephant A Passioni Retinol Cream* is one of their latest releases, a product that promises to rejuvenate the skin, boosting the complexion to give an overall healthier, glow.
As always I have high hopes when it comes to Drunk Elephant products after the success of their other pieces in the ranges working so well for me (shout out to baby facial and la la retro). Saying this, for some reason, after getting sent this, I didn't pick it up for a week or so as I was trialling other products at the time and never felt like this would fit in with my routine. After coming back from Prague, with my dehydrated, lacklustre skin in tow, I thought then was the perfect time to give it a go.
It's hard to find where it sits in a skincare routine, but I like to use it post-cleanse, but before my normal, nourishing moisturiser in the evening every three days, allowing me to use other products on the other days as I wish. I do have to make a conscious effort to remember to use it which sometimes means I miss a couple of days, but that hasn't effected my skin just yet.
So far, I've found that has improved the texture of my skin especially for this time of the year and in general my complexion appears a lot brighter. I haven't seen any long term effects yet, but I will have to get back to you with continued use. It hasn't reacted badly with my skin and doesn't leave me feeling sensitive, but it's important to note that it's best to build up the frequency you use this, even maybe using it mixed with a moisturiser first.
Have you tried the Drunk Elephant A-Passioni Retinol Cream?
