Ingredients (Makes 15 squares) -
200g Golden Caster Sugar
200g Butter or margarine
4 Eggs
140g Plain Flour
1 Tin of Carnation Caramel
100g Dark Chocolate
100g Milk Chocolate
Salt
40g Cocoa Powder
Method -
Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine your eggs, sugar and half a tin of carnation caramel until smooth.
Melt the butter, but be careful not to let it boil. Stir in your dark chocolate and milk chocolate until combined.
Pour the butter and chocolate mixture in with the eggs, sugar and caramel until smooth.
Slowly add the flour to your mixture. Then adding the cocoa powder until mixed thoroughly.
In a separate bowl, spoon out the other half of the carnation caramel with 1 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Put the one side to be used later.
Pour half the brownie mixture into the baking tray and make sure it's levelled out. Then add 3/4 of your caramel mixture on top (I do it in dollops and then spread into stripes).
To finish, pour the rest of the brownie mixture on top. With the remaining caramel, I dollop it on top and then with a fork, I make a swirling pattern on the top.
Place in the oven for 25 minutes or until it has a slight crack and crust. Let cool and then slice into even squares.
